Get Ready for the 2025 Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race!
We’re excited to announce that the 53rd running of the Last Great Race on Earth® is just around the corner! Mark your calendars for an incredible adventure as mushers and their dog teams prepare to take on the Iditarod Trail. A crew from Dextronix will be onsite to help assess the health of the dogs using our VET-ECG to help ensure all of the participants are healthy.
Key Details:
Ceremonial Start: Anchorage, Saturday, March 1, at 10 a.m.
Official Restart: Fairbanks, Monday, March 3, at 11 a.m., starting from Pike’s Waterfront Lodge.
New Route: This year, mushers will embark on a fresh trail beginning in Fairbanks. The halfway point will be the Grayling 1 checkpoint, where teams will regroup before continuing their journey to Nome.
Meet the Mushers:
This year’s lineup is impressive! We have 33 mushers ready to tackle the challenge:
29 Americans: This includes 19 Alaskans and mushers from Michigan, Alabama, Idaho, Montana, New Hampshire, and Wisconsin.
4 International Competitors: Representing Canada, Denmark, and Norway.
The field consists of 11 women and 22 men, with 16 rookies, 17 seasoned veterans, and 2 past champions.
