Due to the ongoing tragedy the wildfires are causing in California, Dextronix has committed our support to multiple organizations to aid their tremendous efforts in saving the displaced and injured pets that truly need any help they can get.
The Eaton Fire has dramatically transformed the Pasadena Humane Society into an emergency animal rescue hub, with the shelter taking in nearly 800 displaced animals since the fire began. The organization has mobilized its resources to provide critical care for fire-affected pets, including treating burns, smoke inhalation, and dehydration in their animal ICU. They've extended stray animal holding periods from 5 to 21 days, established free boarding for evacuated pets, and created a specialized medical response team. The shelter has temporarily suspended regular services like adoptions and public spay/neuter clinics to focus entirely on fire relief efforts. Working closely with regional animal welfare organizations, they're conducting search and rescue operations, reuniting pets with owners, and providing essential medical treatment. Despite the overwhelming challenges, the Pasadena Humane Society continues to serve as a vital lifeline for animals impacted by the devastating wildfire, even setting up a pet food pantry for affected pet owners.

We are extending support to our local One Tail at a Time PDX, a Portland-based rescue organization, that has stepped up to support the crisis by taking in several dogs from the affected region. By utilizing a foster network that provides temporary homes, veterinary care, and essential supplies, this rescue is helping to alleviate pressure on overwhelmed California shelters and ensuring these animals receive critical support during a time of emergency.
